Basement Waterproofing
Interior drain tile, wall sealing, vapor barriers and sump systems that keep basements dry for good.
4.9rated on Google · 44 reviewsA wet basement is rarely a one-time event. Water finds the same cracks, cove joints and low spots every heavy rain, and each time it does, it brings mold, odors and damage to anything stored down there. We fix the path the water takes, not just the puddle.
Signs you need basement waterproofing
- Water along the wall-floor seam (cove joint) after rain
- Damp or chalky white staining (efflorescence) on block or poured walls
- Musty smell, peeling paint or rusted metal at the base of walls
- Sump pump that runs constantly or never seems to catch up
- Finished basement carpet or drywall that stays damp
How we do it
Inspection and water test
We trace where water enters using a moisture meter, thermal imaging and, when needed, an actual water test. You get photos and a written estimate before anything starts.
Interior drainage
Where water comes up at the cove joint, we install interior drain tile that collects water below the slab and routes it to a sump basin.
Wall sealing and vapor barrier
Block and poured walls are sealed, and a heavy wall vapor barrier directs any seepage into the drain system instead of onto your floor.
Sump system
A properly sized primary pump, sealed basin lid, check valve and a discharge line that carries water well away from the foundation. Battery backup available.
Cleanup and walkthrough
Floor protection goes down before we start and we clean up daily. We finish with a walkthrough so you know exactly what was done.
Common questions
How long does basement waterproofing take?
Most interior drainage and sump jobs take one to three days depending on the length of wall and how much concrete has to be opened and re-poured.
Will it work in a finished basement?
Yes. We remove the minimum amount of finish needed, protect the rest, and tell you up front what will need to be put back.
Do I need exterior excavation?
Usually not. Interior systems handle most Kentuckiana water problems at a fraction of the cost and disruption. If exterior work really is the right call, we will tell you why.
