Crawl Space Insulation

Replace wet, fallen fiberglass with insulation that actually stays dry and cuts heating and cooling bills.

4.9rated on Google · 44 reviews

Fiberglass batts under a damp floor soak up moisture, sag, fall and feed mold. Once the crawl space is dry we insulate it the right way, so floors are warmer in winter, cooler in summer and your HVAC stops working overtime.

Signs you need crawl space insulation

  • Cold floors in winter
  • Insulation hanging down or lying on the ground under the house
  • Rodent nests in old batts
  • High heating and cooling bills
  • Ductwork sweating in summer

How we do it

  1. Remove old insulation

Wet, dirty or contaminated batts are bagged and hauled off.

  2. Air-seal

Gaps at the rim joist, vents and penetrations are sealed.

  3. Insulate

Depending on the crawl space, we insulate the foundation walls and rim joist in a sealed crawl space, or the floor system with moisture-resistant insulation in a vented one.

  4. Protect

Insulation is paired with a vapor barrier and, where needed, dehumidification so it stays dry.

Common questions

Should I insulate the floor or the walls?

In an encapsulated crawl space, insulating the walls and rim joist and conditioning the space usually performs best. In a vented crawl space the floor is insulated. We recommend based on your house.

Does insulation help with mold?

Only when the crawl space is dry first. Insulating a wet crawl space makes mold worse, which is why we pair it with moisture control.

Can you remove insulation with animal contamination?

Yes. We remove it safely, clean the area and seal entry points.
