Will my insurance cover this?

Sudden events such as burst pipes or appliance failures are usually covered. Groundwater seepage usually is not unless you carry a water backup rider. We document everything with photos to support your claim either way.

Do I need to throw everything out?

No. Hard, non-porous items can be cleaned. Porous items like carpet pad, cardboard and particleboard that have been wet more than a day usually need to go.
